About
Presbytera Mirela Tudora has a deeply seated passion for the traditional design of Christian Orthodox Churches.
Born in Romania, a cradle Orthodox country, she had the opportunity to grow organically in the Church and to absorb the faith in all its aspects from an early age,
After pursuing architecture studies at the Architecture Institute "Ion Mincu" in Bucharest she graduates in 1996 and starts a successful carrier in Romania. Among secular projects she also worked at the design of several new monastic establishments in the Eastern part of Romania, the province of Moldova, home of the oldest and most beautiful churches in the country.
In 2001 she moves with her family to the United States, in Texas, where they currently reside.
Presbytera Mirela has participated in several church projects in the United States. The first church was St. Mary's Romanian Church in Colleyville, Tx (ROEA) that was finished in February 2004.
This was followed in 2012 by the completion of the new Byzantine Church of St. John the Baptist in Euless, Tx (GOARCH), where her husband is the Proistamenos, St. John of Damascus in Tyler TX (OCA) that was completed in 2015, the Church of St. Sava in Allen, TX (OCA) in 2017 and the Holy Archangels Church (OCA) in Florida, in 2018.
Presbytera Mirela currently participates on several projects including the Church of All Saints of North America in Albuquerque, New Mexico, (OCA) that broke ground in June of 2020, The Nativity Monastery in Kemp, TX (OCA) and the Church of Nativity of our Lord in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Anchored in the faith as a priest's wife, having grown up in an Orthodox country and benefiting from the experience of working with priests from several Orthodox jurisdictions in America, Presbytera Mirela can bring a wealth of knowledge for any parish that wishes to build, expand or modify their current worship, social gathering or educational spaces.
As Presbytera MIrela would say: give her a chance to bring down to your parish the beauty of the Jerusalem from above.
